PURGATORIOUS

Button 1 - The little critter in the tree in front of you is called Purgatorius and believe it or not, he is our oldest primate ancestor. Purgatorius lived during the early Paleocene era, right after the demise of the dinosaurs. Tree climbing gave Purgatorius the advantage in gathering food supplies such as fruits and seeds, as many other mammals of the time lived on the ground. Living in trees also kept Purgatorius away from predators hunting for prey on the ground.
